When I was young, I would write as a way to address my feelings and emotions, which were often difficult for me to express. I wrote as a sort of therapy. This challenge regarding self expression was also one reason why, up until now, I had not previously considered publishing my work. I wrote for me and never thought my words could be of interest to anyone else. Today, writing is not only a creative outlet for self expression, but it is a passion. It’s less therapy and more something that feels like my purpose.
So, what’s changed? Why am I now in process of sharing my work with the world?
I am presenting my writing in an attempt to share in the human experience. It’s about connecting with others. I write with the hope that my words will resonate with others. I also write as a way to challenge you, the reader, to consider a different perspective. Art can be a great conversation starter and a way to share different perspectives. There is no right or wrong answer. However you feel about a piece, that is your interpretation. And I welcome a discussion with you.
So glad you’re doing this!
